Short Trek

As previously blogged, our colleague, Joe Alia, came to visit Nepal and flew to Pokhara for a short trek to Damphus and back. Though it was cloudy most the time, and the mountains concealed, it was a beautiful walk through the countryside, minus the leeches. Pictures below.

Joe and young monk outside main temple at Tashi Palkhel.

Joe fearlessly handling the world's least dangerous snake. It looked like a piece of string on the ground when our guide picked it up.

With our guide, Kumar Pun.

Leeches burrowed through Joe's sock. Not cool. But strangely, leeches aren't painful.

Hotel Greenland and Restaurant. Those are the owner's children on the sign.

A little peek at the sun the next morning.

Jen and Chris, It was wonderful to visit you in Nepal this past June 07 and see all the great work you are doing with Sam's House. I am so happy we had a chance to meet up, and also go for a short trek too! These pictures bring back some very good memories. Thank you again. Joe
